Hi my name is Myra; I’ve worked for TIC+ for the past few years but before then I was working in a primary school in London, a job I loved!
Training qualifications and experience
I was trained in humanistic psychology, and qualified in 2010. Since then I have been working with both adults and children. I’ve had additional training in play therapy.
My training was integrative, which means I integrate a variety of techniques from a wide range of different theoretical models, like gestalt, somatic techniques, transactional analysis.
With children I work using art and play.
I enjoy undertaking further training; recently I have been learning about equine facilitated psychotherapy which is fascinating.
I believe that everyone is motivated to learn, develop, become independent, and aim for their full potential of health and happiness; but sometimes difficult life events or family situations get in the way, and then we may feel low and uncertain. I’ve seen how talking with a counsellor can help people see things afresh and take a realistic view of what can be done, and changed, to make life more positive. Things can get better…
