COUNSELLOR FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE: SOUTH COTSWOLDS


Due to an exciting period of growth we are seeking to employ peripatetic counsellors to work face to face with children and young people, and may also include working with small groups of young people or parents. Successful candidates will form part of a dedicated and professional team. The post is available in the following district:

South Cotswolds (Cirencester/Fairford/Lechlade)

(22 hours per week)


Successful applicants will:

  • hold a relevant professional qualification in counselling/psychotherapy at Level 4 Diploma level or above.
  • be a member of BACP or UKCP or equivalent and also listed on the BACP or equivalent Register.
  • preferably have experience working with children and young people.
  • hold a relevant counselling children and young people qualification (training can be accessed at TIC+).
  • have experience working to a brief/short term counselling model (7 sessions).
  • hold a valid driving license and have vehicle access or an ability to travel within the district applied for to meet clients at school/college or community venues.

Peer support, supervision & CPD is provided. Travel time & mileage allowance is paid between clients.


Hours: 22 hours a week, this includes 15 client hours – other hours are an average per week for admin, supervision, peer etc. (less hours may be considered for the right applicant).

Salary: £24,395 – £31,200 depending on experience, whole time equivalent (pro-rata for part-time employees).

PLEASE NOTE: Hours above do not include travel time between clients that you will need to allow for, (you will be paid travel time and mileage as an additional expense).

The hours are flexible delivered over 39 weeks per year – the majority during term time. Contracts are fixed term until March 2021.

  • preferably have experience working with children and young people.

  3. North Cotswolds (Bourton/Stow/Chipping Campden) – 14 hours a week
  4. South Cotswolds (Cirencester/Fairford/Lechlade) – 16 hours a week,
  5. Stroud/Wotton/Dursley/Tetbury  – 16 hours a week
  6. Forest of Dean – 10 hours a week.

Hours are an average per week and include time for admin, supervision, peer group etc. Less hours may be considered for the right applicant.

ONLINE/TELEPHONE COUNSELLORS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE


Due to an exciting period of growth we are seeking to employ counsellors/psychotherapists to provide online counselling (text-chat) for children and young people aged 11-25 years. You will join a passionate, dedicated and professional team based either at our counselling offices in Mitcheldean, or at our office in central Gloucester.


Successful applicants will:

  • hold a relevant professional qualification in Counselling/Psychotherapy at least Level 4 Diploma level or above (or equivalent).
  • be a member of BACP or equivalent and also listed on the BACP or equivalent Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
  • have more than 150 hours of post qualification supervised clinical practice working with young people.
  • ideally have received (or are soon to receive) specialist training of at least 100 hours to work with young people according to the BACP competencies (can be accessed at TIC+).

A specialist certified online counselling training course will be provided free of charge to successful candidates who do not already hold such a qualification.

Online supervision from a specialist online supervisor will be provided for all online counsellors.


Terms: 16 months fixed term commencing ASAP. It is hoped the contract will be extended beyond this period subject to funding.

Holiday: You will receive 5.6 weeks’ holiday per year inclusive of public/bank holidays (pro-rata for part time employees).

Hours of Work: Two 5.5 hour shifts (3.45pm – 9.15pm) per week are available. You may apply for more than one shift per week at either location (see below availability).

Place of Work: TIC+ offices in Mitcheldean or at our office in central Gloucester.

Possible working days are: Tuesday or Wednesday in Gloucester or Mitcheldean or Monday or Thursday in Mitcheldean
