PERIPATETIC COUNSELLORS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Due to an exciting period of growth we are seeking to employ peripatetic counsellors to work with children and young people. Successful candidates will form part of a dedicated and professional team. During the current COVID-19 crisis, sessions will be delivered remotely by telephone, video and online chat. When schools and colleges re-open the majority of sessions will be face-to-face with some remote sessions. The role may also include working with small groups of young people or parents.

The posts available are:

· South Cotswolds (Cirencester/Fairford/Lechlade) 7.5 hours a week, this includes 5 client hours – other hours are an average per week for admin, supervision, peer support etc.

· Stroud/Wotton/Dursley/Tetbury 27.5 hours a week, this includes 20 client hours – other hours are an average per week for admin, supervision, peer support etc. (less hours may be considered for the right applicant)


Successful applicants will:

· hold a relevant professional qualification in counselling/psychotherapy at Diploma level or above.

· be a member of BACP or UKCP or equivalent and also listed on the BACP or equivalent Register.

· preferably have experience working with children and young people.

· hold a relevant counselling children and young people qualification (training can be accessed at TIC+ commencing September 2020).

· have experience working to a brief/short term counselling model (7 sessions).

· hold a valid driving license and have vehicle access or an ability to travel within the district applied for to meet clients at school/college or community venues.

· have the use of a private, confidential space at home for when working remotely.

· have a suitable PC or laptop and internet/telephone access for remote working.

Peer support, supervision & CPD is provided. Travel time & mileage allowance is paid between clients.

Salary: £24,395.00 to £31,200.00 /year – pro rata for part time employees.

Please note: hours above do not include travel time between clients that you will need to allow for, (you will be paid travel time and mileage as an additional expense).

Contracts are fixed term from 7th September 2020 until 31st March 2021 (for 26 weeks during term time). Contracts will hopefully be renewed 1st April 2021 until March 2022 (for 39 weeks during term time) subject to funding.

TRUSTEE VACANCIES

TIC+ is looking to appoint a new Chair and up to an additional four new Trustees.

Chair

The Chair of Trustees provides leadership and direction to the Board of Trustees, supporting them in fulfilling their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of TIC+. The Chair acts as a critical friend of the Executive team, (Director of Counselling Services and Director of Ops) and works in partnership to optimise the delivery of the charity’s strategy agreed by the Board.

TIC+ are looking for an experienced Chair with a vision for growth in a financially sustainable way Specific duties include:

  • Leading the Board and the organisation to enable it to fulfil its purpose;
  • Ensuring an effective relationship between:
  •  the board and the staff/volunteers;
  •  the board and the external stakeholders/community;
  • To act as a spokesperson and figurehead when needed;
  • To supervise and support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT); and
  • To be instrumental in helping fundraising initiatives.

Trustees

The Trustees, along with the Chair, are collectively responsible for the leadership and direction to the charity. TIC+ is looking to strengthen its board and is seeking up to 4 new Trustees to join its board over the next 12 months.

For Trustees, we are interested in a wide range of candidates. We are specifically interested in candidates who:

  • Have a clinical background in Children & Young People’s Mental Health and/or
  • Have specific skills in fundraising and HR and/or
  • Have specific skills in legal practice and/or
  • Have leadership experience on the board of a charity that has grown significantly in a sustainable way to deliver long term success

Time Commitment

· Chair 8-12 hours minimum per month

· 4-12 hours per month

· The board currently meets 6 times a year and holds its meetings in Mitcheldean. The board also has a number of sub-committees which meet regularly. There is an annual away day, used for strategic planning

· There is no current maximum term for Trustees (although this is being revised) but a minimum term of three years is asked. Chair and Trustees serve a maximum of two terms of three years

For the Chair, we are specifically interested in candidates who have a credible track record of working in this area and who have the credibility and profile to influence key influencers across the spectrum. This is an important leadership role and we want someone who, working with our Senior Leadership team can help us to achieve our vision.

COUNSELLORS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Successful candidates will form part of a dedicated and professional team. Several posts are available in the following districts:

  1. Cheltenham/Tewkesbury – 16 hours a week
  2. Gloucester  – 16 hours a week
  3. North Cotswolds (Bourton/Stow/Chipping Campden) – 14 hours a week
  4. South Cotswolds (Cirencester/Fairford/Lechlade) – 16 hours a week,
  5. Stroud/Wotton/Dursley/Tetbury  – 16 hours a week
  6. Forest of Dean – 10 hours a week.

Hours are an average per week and include time for admin, supervision, peer group etc. Less hours may be considered for the right applicant.

ONLINE/TELEPHONE COUNSELLORS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE


Due to an exciting period of growth we are seeking to employ counsellors/psychotherapists to provide online counselling (text-chat) for children and young people aged 11-25 years. You will join a passionate, dedicated and professional team based either at our counselling offices in Mitcheldean, or at our office in central Gloucester.


Successful applicants will:

  • hold a relevant professional qualification in Counselling/Psychotherapy at least Level 4 Diploma level or above (or equivalent).
  • be a member of BACP or equivalent and also listed on the BACP or equivalent Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
  • have more than 150 hours of post qualification supervised clinical practice working with young people.
  • ideally have received (or are soon to receive) specialist training of at least 100 hours to work with young people according to the BACP competencies (can be accessed at TIC+).

A specialist certified online counselling training course will be provided free of charge to successful candidates who do not already hold such a qualification.

Online supervision from a specialist online supervisor will be provided for all online counsellors.


Terms: 16 months fixed term commencing ASAP. It is hoped the contract will be extended beyond this period subject to funding.

Holiday: You will receive 5.6 weeks’ holiday per year inclusive of public/bank holidays (pro-rata for part time employees).

Hours of Work: Two 5.5 hour shifts (3.45pm – 9.15pm) per week are available. You may apply for more than one shift per week at either location (see below availability).

Place of Work: TIC+ offices in Mitcheldean or at our office in central Gloucester.

Possible working days are: Tuesday or Wednesday in Gloucester or Mitcheldean or Monday or Thursday in Mitcheldean
